Starting with Sissy Self Care
It’s that time of year again, the time when temperatures drop outside. Air conditioners get covered up, the heat gets turned on. I think it’s a wonderful time of year to be a sissy! It’s also a wonderful time to take some steps towards sissy self care. First of all, we need to get a good working definition of self care in place, so you know what topics I’ll be covering! One thing I really enjoy about this time of year for my sissy callers is that they get to cover up a bit more. This means they can do a few more sissy activities than perhaps they could have gotten away with during the summer.
I’m primarily interested today in your skincare, though! It’s important year-round, but perhaps there have been reasons you couldn’t do all you had hoped. I want to discuss with you how to have great skin and a few other things that are more outward facing, but can still be subtly handled if you can’t let your sissy self shine in public. Even if you can shine in public, these sissy self care routines can be your foundation for a more feminine self.
Your Primary Concern
This part of your sissy self care routine can actually be carried out all year round, and I highly recommend it. I want you to stay hydrated! According to this report, you should be drinking one-half to one full ounce of hydrating fluids for every pound you weigh. I say hydrating fluids because unfortunately caffeine and carbonated beverages do not count! (neither do adult beverages!) So what if you aren’t a fan of water? Well, I suggest you seek out many of the hydrating substitutes you can find at nearly any corner store or grocer.
I personally do enjoy water, so it’s not generally a problem for me. Other choices that are favorites of mine are peach Propel and the blue Gatorade. (yes, I know blue is not a flavor!) What I try and do is chase every cup of coffee with a glass of water. That seems to work out well for me. If I do something strenuous, either good old fashioned sexy time, or going to the gym, I may up my intake then to compensate for what I lose doing those things. So, first of all, figure out how much water you should be drinking, and the size of the container you will be drinking out of ( I try and use reusable tumblers for most things). Then all you have to do is strive to reach your goal daily! It may not be perfect at first, but after a bit, you’ll be doing great!
Now For the Outside
Whether you shave your body hair in any way is entirely up to your personal situation. If you can do it without any negative scrutiny, I highly recommend it! Either way, lotion is the next step in your journey toward sissy self care this winter. You can go with something gender-neutral, like unscented Nivea. Maybe you can try something slightly feminine, like Jergen’s original ( smells like almonds and I believe cherry trees!). You could also jump in with both feet deep into the girly sissy pool with something undeniably feminine.
If you are uncertain of a scent you would enjoy, you can try to figure things out by the labels. Some are very descriptive and make it very clear what their scent will be. If you are especially daring, or enthusiastic, you can go to a place like Victoria’s Secret. Browse around and smell what they have to offer in their fragrance line. You could, if you are very nervous, say you are holiday shopping for a “friend” and want to get something that will be perfect for her. Once you have selected a scent that you feel comfortable with, slather that stuff on from head to toe. This way you know you are protecting yourself against winter dry skin.
An Additional Activity
Part of sissy self care is learning to pamper yourself. I highly recommend you try to go get a manicure and a pedicure, even if you get them without any polish. Your hands, feet, and cuticles will thank you! Obviously, if you are able to, at least get your toes painted! If you’d like to paint your own nails something neutral, I highly recommend Londontown’s Illuminating Nail Concealer in “Milky” ( sounds a bit naughty, doesn’t it?!) Go check out the page, look at the videos way down at the bottom, and see if that look is for you. I’m loving it as my everyday polish.
If that’s too much, a clear matte top coat may tickle your fancy. It’s barely noticeable, and nobody should be staring at your nails anyway! If you can only manage the manicure, they will likely buff your nails, making them look very healthy! If you work with papers a lot, they will dry out your hands, so manicures and plenty of lotion will help you stay ahead of the dryness.
In conclusion, your softest winter skin will come from inner hydration and outer moisture trapping. If you didn’t follow the links ( shame on you!) I want you to know you should apply the lotion on slightly damp skin after you shower. It will make all the difference in the world! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or any of the lovely Mistresses here, and we will do our best to guide you in the right direction!
thank you the enlightened advice you have given
Erin fay- I hope you can put some of the advice to good use! Thank you for reading!
In the above picture – you look just like one of those “pin up” illustrations by Gil Elvgren from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s
My favorite drink is cold water. I have started using Cera Ve. I have some of that nail polish
and in Winter I plan on wearing thigh highs everyday
